JS110 Not Connecting to UI on Windows 11

I cannot view the values for my JS110 in the UI. I unplug device from USB, I open Joulescope app, I plug in device, and the waveform shows up for a moment, then everything stops and the buttons grey out. Then no more data comes in.

Device has the green LED active, and it shows up as “Joulescope” in the device manager. This device has worked in the past. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I tried rebooting my computer. Any suggestions??

Hi @nateski - Welcome to the Joulescope forum and sorry to hear that you are having issues with your JS110.

The JS110 has two LEDs: the host-side Status LED next to the USB port and the sensor-side LED under the word IN next the safety banana jack connectors.

Some questions:

  1. Can you confirm that you are plugging the JS110 directly into the host computer? No USB hubs, docks or adapters. Unpowered hubs are particularly problematic and can cause the JS110 to brown out.
  2. Do both LEDs stay illuminated when this problem occurs?
  3. When this happens in the Joulescope UI, can you click HelpReport Issue? This should give us more information to figure out what is happening.

Thank you for the advice! Using a USB hub was indeed the problem. When plugged directly into my computer it works. Strange because I had been using it with the hub before no problem.
